Border Open Date Announced

The NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has confirmed that the border between NSW and Victoria will open up on November 23.

In a press conference today, Ms Berejiklian said she is pleased to make the announcement.

"After a conversation I had with the Victorian Premier Andrews this morning, and Prime Minister on the weekend, the NSW Government will open the border to Victoria."

"Come a minute past midnight on November 23, there will be free movement across the state."

The Daily Telegraph reports that November 23 will be the date that the border restrictions will be lifted following months of lockdown in Victoria and border headaches.

Ms Berejiklian hinted yesterday in a press conference she did plan on opening the border depending on the situation in Victoria, which has recorded five consecutive days of zero coronavirus cases.

Meantime, Victorians can soon travel to South Australia, which is set to lift its harsh border.

SA Premier Steven Marshall says he plans on opening the border within an even shorter time frame of 2 weeks, to allow Victorians to self-isolate in South Australia.
