Murray Football League have released an official statement

The Murray Football League have released a statement on an incident between Echuca United and Nathalia in round 14 of the season.

The incident in the first quarter of the seniors game left an Echuca United player requiring surgery in Melbourne to repair a broken jaw.

The League's General Manager, Dale Norman, has spoken to EdgeFM and 2QN, providing an official statement on the matter.

"Echuca United Football Club and Nathalia Football Club have requested investigations into three incidents that are alleged to have occurred in the first quarter of the Seniors game played on July 20th.

An investigation is to be completed by the WorkSafe AFL Victoria Country investigation officer concerning these allegations.

A report will be provided back to the Murray Football League by the appointed investigation officer within 10 days of his engagement."
