Campaspe Shire cleaves $220,000 from Port of Echuca subsidy
Campaspe Shire has cut more than $200,000 from a subsidy aimed at keeping the Port of Echuca operating.
Increased revenue from the Port of Echuca and identified savings make up the total, which will see Campaspe Shire spend $1.4 million in the precinct in the next financial year.
The shire's draft budget had intended $1.6 million be spent, which had drawn criticism from the community,
Mayor Adrian Weston said the port, like all other shire assets, needed to be looked at critically to maximise efficiency.
