Marhsall returns

Deniliquin's Todd Marshall returns to AFL after death of his father.

Denilquin footballer Todd Marshall returns to Port Adelaide's side for Thursday night's clash with the Western Bulldogs.

Marshall has not played for the Power since round four, following the sudden death of his father Robert.

The club had offered him indefinite leave at the time, just six months after the death of his mother Mary who had battled cancer.

Marshall's first month of football had set the football world talking, with nine goals in four games cementing his place in a powerful Port forward line.

Coach Ken Hinkley told the football media this morning that Marshall was an automatic selection to the side as soon as he was available for senior selection.

"Everyone knows that he is an exciting talent," Hinkley said.

Marshall will have some big boots to fill, replacing big-name recruit and former number one draft pick Jack Watts in the side.
