With the fire doused and protective measures in place, brigades returned to base.
However, the next morning the same brigades received an emergency call to the same property.
The hayshed, which contained the same hay, had self-combust and was in danger of spreading to haystacks and surrounding crops.
Brigades implemented earth breaks and other protective measures whilst extinguishing the shed.
Thankfully, there was no further escape.
Firies are, and will continue to, monitor the property with fingers crossed there are no more incidents of self-combustion.
RFS Mid-Murray Zone are pleading with farmers to check their hay's moisture content as a southerly wind change is set to sweep in on Thursday, bringing with it, a possible lightning storm to top it off.
